The journey started with work last night from 1700 – 0500 this A.M. However, I awoke yesterday at 1330 prior to my shift. Well, I worked my shift with no naps….I work in EMS if you didn’t already know. EMS stands for “Earn Money Sleeping” atleast 50-60% of the time.

So once my shift ended this morning I blitzed up to Frisco’s Main st and I-70 trailhead parking for the Tenmile Range and arrived just prior to 0700. The initial goal was Peak One or Tenmile Peak to get a sense of the Tenmile Range Traverse. I left my car at 0700 knowing that I had a possibility of T-storms around 1300.

The bike path start

It’s about a half mile towards Breck to the Royal trailhead.

The views were….[edit]

All in all, it took 44 mins to get to the top of mount Royal and 2.5 hrs to get to the false summit of Peak 1 where I turned around. Another 1.5 hrs back to the car and then I trip over to David’s restaurant Food Hedz where I talked climbing with David and then refueled a little for the drive home. For some reason I couldn’t sleep and was awake until 0130 this morning for a total of 36 hrs awake after I finally fell asleep I slept 11 hours. If you’re ever in the Frisco, Silverthorne, Breckenridge or even Cooper and Vail mountain areas Food Hedz is certainly worth a stop.
