A High Dynamic Range Panoramic: Portland Oregon shot on 4/11/2013

I’ve been wanting to get a night pano for a long time.  I finally did a decent first attempt.  In order for this to improve some technologies need to open up with the gear I used.  The Promote Control is an amazing tool that is only limited by the abilities of the GigaPan Epic Pro in terms of one particular function.  The time exposure setting is capped at 60 seconds, which limits the quality of any night HDR panoramic image capture.  The good thing is that night photography isn’t a part of my main goal with these specific tools.  The tools worked great in the cooler evening air which was the main part of the test.

All the frames fired away unimpeded for the 30 min pan.   Each frame was a 5 image bracket and since this was a newer thing for me I went with a wider lens, 28mm on the crop of a 40D.

This shot was just another test run of functionality for the Columbia Icefield Gigapixel Project.    Which will be able to start due to a generous delivery from xRez Studios, a 400mm lens.

Uploading images from a Night HDR Pano…. We’ll see how turns out tomorrow or the next day.

Real Estate Panos

Did a couple HDR Panos the other day. I worked out a reasonable price point given the constraints of the RMLS pixel dimensions.

Shot an HDR Panoramic image and processed it all yesterday. The shot was done with the GigaPan Epic Pro and the Promote Control to capture a total 945 images in 9 brackets at 0.7 stop increment for each frame.

I did another HDR Pano at WSU two days prior.
