Illumination Rock Summer Solstice

Thursday, June 23rd, 2016

Here’s a little edit from my trip up to the Summer Solstice Party.  Though this doesn’t tell the story of the party.  Look up Shawn Hokkanen  on Instagram for the party scene.

Thanks to all my sponsors who helped me get there:

My Wife for granting me the Hall Pass

Intuition Liners you always keep my feet warm and fuzzy.

The only non-iPhone shot I got today while out on Silver Star Mountain today.    It was a chilly one, if I had more time I would have gone for a pano with the GigaPan.  Another time perhaps.

Excited for my webmaster to get this restructuring of my site complete.  I thank him for the work he does with the themes on this site.  We will be going with a lighter theme soon.

Don’t forgot to contact me directly for any prints of my photos.

Here’s some older photos to enjoy:

Thank you to my Wife for clicking the shutter...however, it's a bit difficult to pre-focus at f/2.8 when you're not in the frame. Thank you to my Grandpa for the much taller tripod!

Tyrolia AAA

The new Tyrolia AAA alpine touring binding.

A couple weeks ago I won these new bindings in a photo comp by draw.  The competition is still going for a ski trip to Tyrol.    So, I decided to break out my lights and get a few shots before I get them mounted on my skis.

Here’s the toe piece lit with my two Eddie Bauer LEDs and the on camera flash for a bit of fill.

Here’s the healthy DIN settings. To release or not to release?

The heel piece back lit with an LED.

Check out the rest of their binding line up: http://www.tyrolia.com/  or their Facebook page.

A brutal wind

Went for a ski near Longs Peak, however the blowing snow changed my perspective.

A sun patch in the clouds

I came back into town and did some bouldering in the sun…..
